Clam Shell ・ Tiny Silver Stud Earrings

・Each clam measures 5mm x 4mm at widest points.

These earrings are ethically handmade in my studio using a steel shot plate. This is an ancient fabrication technique used by metal-smiths for centuries (a similar tool was used by the Romans to forge coins)

It involves placing a solid ball of silver in a steel mould and applying force with a hammer or press so that the silver takes on the shape of the impression. I then file and carve around each of these little shapes by hand and solder them to ear posts.
